The Learning Support Hub is being established to provide support for children and young people  and their families in Leicestershire who are experiencing difficulties in education.

The Learning Support Hub is currently a non profit organisation looking to gain charitable trust status as soon as possible.

The Learning Hub is getting more and more requests to help students with special needs who find it hard to fully access their learning in both mainstream and special schools. This often leads to missed days and gaps in their education, making their problems worse and affecting their chances for future education and jobs.

Schools don’t have the resources to meet all these different needs, and parents and caregivers often have a tough time figuring out the complicated support systems in education and health, especially where they overlap.

Why is The Learning Support Hub needed?

Many of us know that there are long waiting lists for children and young people who need help with mental health issues or gaining the diagnoses required for school support.

The Hidden Problem

To even get on these waiting lists, specific and strict criteria must be met. What many people don’t realise is that there are thousands of children and young people who struggle in school because they don’t meet these strict criteria -  either because their problems aren't considered serious enough, or because the support needed is not SEND related such as support for young carers.

We understand that due to shortages and limited funding, there aren't services available to help everyone. Unfortunately this leaves many children and families without support. Everyone's mental health, ADHD, dyslexia, ASD, or social situation is different, but the help available is limited, and agencies can't always cater to individual needs.

We won’t have strict criteria—if a student needs help to fully access their education they will qualify for our support, and we will do our best provide it.
